About the Whitepaper

SolarAnywhere® Data SUNY Satellite-to-Solar Irradiance Model Improvements

The SolarAnywhere Data V3 model is the most bankable, accurate and readily available solar irradiance and weather dataset available.

Improvements in V3 focus on resolving earlier model challenges in differentiating cloud cover conditions at locations with seasonal snow cover or high ground reflectance (i.e. desert sand). To do this, the v3 model incorporates infrared (IR) satellite image channels that help improve the model’s prediction of solar insolation.

This paper provides an evaluation of SolarAnywhere V3 accuracy and the associated measurement of uncertainty, and can be included in bankable project portfolios as documentation around solar resource risk.
